The Library is located on B Floor of the Percival Whitley Centre. Every student who enrols with the College automatically becomes a member of the Library. Your student ID card is also your Library card. You will need your card to borrow a book or to use a computer in the Learning Zones. Our staff are always pleased to answer any questions you may have or help you find the information you need.
The Library offers books for your course as well as magazines, newspapers, videos, electronic resources, leisure reading, photocopier, laminator and binding machines.
All our books, magazines, videos, DVDs, electronic resources and many web sites are listed in the easy-to-use Library/Learning Resources Catalogue (also known as the OPAC - it stands for Online Public Access Catalogue)
An increasing range of learning resources are now delivered electronically via the Internet. These resources include newspaper and magazine articles as well as general and specialist reference books. Your can use these resources from any College computer via the LRC web site. You can also use these electronic resources from any Internet-connected computer at any time by logging in with your College user name and password. LRC staff can tell you more about this service.
Quiet discussion is permitted in the LRC, but there is also a private study area in the Library where talking is not allowed. Bottled water is allowed in the LRC but we do not allow eating, drinking (apart from bottled water) or mobile telephones in the Library or in the Learning Zones as they may disturb the comfort of other users.
