Empty Space Theatre
Performing arts at Calderdale College has been established for more than twenty years with the range of courses having constantly expanded during that time to include all areas of the performing arts. In addition to our range of further education courses we now offer two degree programmes in Performance Arts and Acting accredited by Leeds Metropolitan University.
The department has a fully equipped studio theatre with linked rehearsal spaces sound studio and dance studio with up to date facilities and resources.
Outreach
The department has many links with schools, groups and companies across Calderdale. Students on all programmes annually perform in Theatre in Education and Community Theatre projects, providing issue and curriculum based performances to target audiences. Students have also devised staff training performances/ role plays, providing customised performances to suit corporate needs.

Jess Harris - Heartbeat and has recently toured Northern Broadsides Othello playing the part of Desdemona

Nikki Helens - Emmerdale / Fat Friends
Karen Blick - No Angels
Chris Keegan - Doctors / Hustle / Demon and has recently toured with Alan Bennett’s History Boys
