Step 1 – APPLY
So you’ve seen a course that you’re interested in, either online, in our prospectusor maybe you attended one of our Open Evenings and now you’re ready to apply for the course of your choice. When you submit an application, this will be processed by a member of the Admissions Team.
Step 2 – ATTEND TASTER SESSION OR INTERVIEW
After you’ve applied you will receive a conditional offer to join Calderdale College and an invitation to attend a Taster Session or Interview with the course tutor. One of the main conditions of the offer is attending a Taster Session or Interview, so it’s important that you attend. The Taster Sessions or Interviews are a chance for you to introduce yourself to the tutor and College facilities, get a better understanding of the course and potential careers and help you decide if this course is the right course for you. It’s also a chance for the tutor to get to know you, why you chose the course and what your career aims are.
If you’re 19 years old or over, you won’t receive a conditional offer straight away, however you will still receive an invitation to attend a Taster Session or Interview. Some courses however don’t require an interview and you will just be invited to enrol prior to the course starting.
Step 3 – WE’LL KEEP IN TOUCH
After you’ve attended a Taster Session or Interview and successfully been offered a place on your chosen course, we will try and keep in communication with you on things like College News and Enrolments for the course. You will be invited to Hello College, which is another opportunity for you to get to know the College, the facilities available to you as a student, your tutor and fellow classmates.
For applicants over the age of 19, you may not receive an invite to the Hello College event, however we will aim to keep in contact with you during the process with information on a variety of topics, such as funding and financial support during your studies at Calderdale College.
Step 4 – ENROLMENT
The final step on your journey to join Calderdale College is enrolling, where you will receive your Student ID card and information on when you will start your chosen course at College. We will invite you in to enrol during the summer prior to your course starting.
ADVICE AND GUIDANCE
During every stage of the applicant journey, you will have the opportunity to speak to the College Information, Advice and Guidance Team if you have any queries or questions on things such as funding a course, financial support available or any other queries.
We wish you every success on your journey to join Calderdale College, however if would like further advice on any part of the process or have questions on courses or the College in general, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the Admissions Team by calling 01422 399316, emailing email@example.com or texting 07537 404735 and we will be happy to help.
