Christopher Bailey OBE, is the Chief Creative Officer at Burberry. Born and raised in Sowerby Bridge, Christopher has been nominated for his entrepreneurial spirit and support of emerging British design talent, particularly from the Yorkshire area.

Christopher was born and raised in Sowerby Bridge and graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Masters degree in 1994 and later received an honorary fellowship from the College in 2004.
Christopher is responsible for the design of all Burberry collections and products, as well as all advertising, corporate art direction, architectural design, multimedia content and overall brand image for Burberry. Christopher also oversaw the recent design and development of the 44, 000 square foot Burberry Regent Street store in London, the brand’s largest store in the world, as well as the 160,000 square foot Burberry Global Headquarters at Horseferry House in London, the 68,000 square foot Burberry Americas Headquarters at 444 Madison in New York and the Burberry Headquarters in Ginza, Tokyo in Japan.
Christopher is a long-standing supporter and mentor of emerging British design talent from institutions around the UK including the Royal College of Art, the Chelsea College of Art, the University of Huddersfield, Sheffield Hallam University, the Batley School of Art and the University of Westminster. In 2012 Christopher Bailey was named Chair of Fashion Fringe, one of the leading platforms supporting emerging fashion talent in the UK.
Prior to his appointment at Burberry, Christopher was the Senior Designer of Womenswear at Gucci in Milan from 1996 to 2001. From 1994 to 1996 he was the Womenswear Designer at Donna Karan.
