Sophie Dixon, Course Leader, Performing Arts (Acting)

I have a BA in Drama and studied for an MsC in Festival Producing, and for 5 years now I?ve lectured on all Performing Arts courses at Calderdale College. I perform regularly with both text-based and devised contemporary performance works including Stitching by Anthony Neilson, and an observational/invisible theatre event surrounding the student protests against education cuts. I?ve also worked as a performer, collaborator and researcher with multimedia performance company, The Chameleons Group. Recent projects include The Prawn Joke, a devised physical theatre performance, and Blink by Phil Porter. I?m passionate about my teaching role: it?s great helping students to gain skills and confidence that last them a lifetime.

Former Level 3 Performing Arts student, Nathan Hall

I'm here because I thought it was a really good local college. I had seen some of the productions they put on here and I thought I would really like to get involved in that. I just love the College itself. The thing I like most about it is you get so close to everyone in the group they become like a second family. I would recommend the course because the couple of years you will have here are amazing.
