Dave Kitson

I have 32 years’ experience working in the Police for 2 years and Fire and Rescue Services for 30 Years. I worked as an instructor/tutor at the Brigade Training Establishment where I studied for my Certificate in Education (through Huddersfield University).

I enjoyed training staff and also educating young people in Community Safety. When I retired from the services I wanted to pass on my experience to young people in the hope that with anecdotal examples they would like to take up a career in the public services for themselves. I have been at the college for over 11 years and teach across a range of levels and subjects.

I support each of my students to achieve their qualification and to share my passion within their employability as public servants and provide opportunities that prepare them for the world of work.

I continually ensure my own professional development by attending courses and keeping contact with the services.
