A Management Apprenticeship is suited to those who currently work in a Management or Junior Management role in the workplace, that want to upskill and learn strategies and techniques to help in managing a team effectively.
Apprentices will be employed in a management role and will study the qualification in the workplace to gain the underpinning skills and knowledge required to operate effectively in a management role.
The work based qualification combines competence and theoretical knowledge to give learners the practical competencies, skills and sector related knowledge they need to be able to carry out a job effectively.
This Diploma is made up of mandatory units which cover areas including:
- Manage Personal and Professional Development
- Principles of Business
- Principles of Leadership and Management
- Principles of People Management
There are a number of optional units chosen by the learner to suit their job role including:
- Managing Conflict within a Team
- Recruitment, Selection and Induction Practice
- Discipline and Grievance Management
Apprentices will gain an overall understanding of the processes required to be an effective manager which can aid in further career progression.
One to one sessions in the workplace with a designated Training Officer.
All applicants will be interviewed and assessed for suitability for the qualification. Applicants will be expected to be in relevant employment with the support of an employer who can offer work that supports the completion of the qualification. Applicants who do not have an employer will be given employment seeking assistance from our Communication Skills Academy. Level 3 applicants are required to hold a GCSE Grade C or Grade 4 or above in Maths, English and ICT (or equivalent) or be prepared to work towards Maths, English and ICT Level 2 Functional Skills.

How is the course assessed?
Through assessor guidance and the completion of a portfolio of evidence.
The Advice & Guidance team provide impartial Student Advisors to give information about College Courses and provide initial guidance to help you decide which course is best for you . Careers and Student Advisors to give you the necessary help and guidance you need when you are progressing on to further and higher education or employment.
During Your Study
Before enrolment you will be asked to attend an interview with a Training Officer and complete a Basic Skills assessment. The results of this will be used to determine the level of support you will require to complete your framework successfully.Apply for this course
