The AEE is a one year programme, which is designed to broaden your understanding and knowledge of the world of business entrepreneurship, and taking that first step to start your own business. You will fundamentally develop important personal, academic and entrepreneurial skills that you will put into practice through the year.

Description

You will be involved in identifying & creating business opportunities, plan business start-ups, understand and develop finance, have a clear understanding of profitability and financial management, plan and manage business events, develop research methods, marketing and selling your product/service. The level 3 programme comprises of 9 units in Year 1 (if doing 90 credit only) or 18 units ( if doing it over 2 years). It covers the fundamentals of business as well as diversifying in to specialist areas such as Law, Finance, Marketing and Human Resources

As the programme has an enterprise emphasis, you will be expected to engage in a dynamic enterprise experience, whereby you will be given opportunities to manage your own business and develop leadership and effective team working skills. The successful programme attracts UCAS points making university access a natural progression, as a wellestablished, nationally recognised qualification it is also recognised by employers, for those seeking work after completion. The programme is the equivalent of 1 A Level.

Teaching

The delivery is classroom based using case studies, lectures, group work and e-learning technologies. There is an expectation of a minimum of ten hours private study per week. Homework is closely monitored.

You must have a GCSE Grade C or above in English & Maths and be involved in work experience 1 day a week.

How is the course assessed?

Assessment is through l00% coursework, there are no examinations. This is a practical, work related course and you will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic situations.

Are there any opportunities for progression?

This course can lead to entry to Higher Education including: *HND Business *Foundation Degrees in Business or International Business *Students can also progress to university The course could also lead directly to employment in a wide range of career opportunities including: *Business *Marketing *Human Resources * Finance * Management or Customer Service.
