Law in Business 90 (Credit) DiplomaBTEC
The course comprises of 18 units over two years and has a law emphasis. It provides an insight into law practice, both the civil and criminal areas. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situation, activities and demands. You will study 4 core units and 14 specialist units, selected from the key areas of business and law for the 21st Century. The successful programme attracts UCAS points making university access a natural progression. As a well-established, national recognised qualification it is also recognised by employers, for those seeking work after completion. The programme is the equivalent of 3 A levels

The delivery is classroom based using case studies, lectures, group work and e-learning technologies. There is an expectation of a minimum of ten hours private study per week. Homework is closely monitored.

I've been working in further education for more than four years now, delivering a range of business disciplines from marketing right through to economics. I am also the co-ordinator of works skills for Business and Travel & Tourism. I love my job immensely and I'm passionate about helping every single student achieve their goal and prepare for the work of work, whatever their particular interest is."

An advanced course suitable for those with at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or grade 4 or a relevant level 2 qualification such as BTEC First Diploma to include Maths and English at level 2.

How is the course assessed?
Assessment is through l00% coursework, there are no examinations. This is a practical, work related course and you will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic situations.
Are there any opportunities for progression?
This course could lead to entry to Higher Education including: HND Business, Foundation Degrees in Business, International Business, Paralegal ILEX course, Conveyancing. The course could also lead directly to employment in a wide range of career opportunities including Business, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Customer service, Paralegal or Conveyancer.
