What will be studied?
This qualification is made up of several units; 3 mandatory and 2 optional. Selected units of delivery are; Mandatory (all) 001 Working safely in an engineering environment 002 Carrying out engineering activities efficiently and effectively 003 Using and communicating technical information Optional (selection of 2) Choice 1 004 Making components using hand tools and fitting techniques 007 Using lathes for turning operations Choice 2 012 Carrying out sheet metal cutting, forming and assembly activities + 1 welding unit (choice of 4)

Progression will be employment or a KITS apprenticeship

- Start Time: 10.00 am (Tuesday); 12.30 pm (Wednesday & Thursdays)
- End Time: 12 Noon (Tuesday); 2.30 pm (Wednesdays & Thursdays)
- Duration: 12 weeks
- Course Fees: Free for 16 - 18 year olds. In most cases students aged 18 and under who wish to enrol on a full time further education course will have their fees waived. Students who are aged 19 and over and who wish to enrol on a full time course should contact our Student Services Team on 01422-399367 for more information.
