Apprenticeship Level 2 ILM in Team LeadingApprenticeship
A Management Apprenticeship is suited to those who currently work in a Team Leading or Supervisory role in the workplace that want to up-skill and learn strategies and techniques to help in managing and supporting a team effectively.
Apprentices will be employed in a Supervisory role and will study the qualification in the workplace to gain the underpinning skills and knowledge required to operate effectively in a management role.
The work based qualification combines competence and theoretical knowledge to give learners the practical competencies, skills and sector related knowledge they need to be able to carry out a job effectively.
The Diploma is made up of mandatory units which cover areas including:
- Managing Personal Performance and Development
- Communicating Work Related Information
- Leading and Managing a Team
- Principles of Team Leading
- Understanding Business
There are a number of optional units that are chosen by the learner to suit their job role including:
- Managing Individuals Performance
- Managing Conflict within a Team
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Apprentices will gain an overall understanding of the processes of being a Team Leader which will aid in career progression.
One to one sessions in the workplace with a designated Training Officer.
All applicants will be interviewed and assessed for suitability for the qualification. Applicants will be expected to be in relevant employment with the support of an employer who can offer work that supports the completion of the qualification. Applicants who do not have an employer will be given employment seeking assistance from our Communication Skills Academy. Level 2 applicants are required to hold a Grade E or Grade 2 or above in Maths and English GCSE's (or equivalent) or be prepared to work towards Maths and English Level 1 Functional Skills.
All applicants will be interviewed and assessed for suitability by a Training Office. Applicants will be expected to be in relevant employment with the support of an employer who can offer work that supports the apprenticeship completion.

How is the course assessed?
Apprentices are required to build a portfolio of evidence and complete Functional Skills Exams (if necessary).
Are there any opportunities for progression?
Once the Team Leading qualification is completed to the required standard it is possible to progress onto the Level 3 Management Qualification.

Financial advice and assistance if you need help with childcare, equipment, fees, or travel. Careers and Student Advisors to give you the necessary help and guidance you need when you are progressing on to further and higher education or employment.
During Your Study
Before enrolment you will be asked to attend an interview with a Training Officer and complete a Basic Key Skills assessment. The results of this will be used to determine the level of support you will require to complete your framework successfully.Apply for this course
