The new Calderdale College Netball Academy is now up and running. The Academy has been formed to develop the skills and fitness of any female learners who wish to participate. Coach Kathryn Cromie is pleased that the new Academy has already generated much interest across the College and with help from Sports Coordinator Lee Greenwood, Kathryn has signed up a number of ladies who wish to be part of the exciting new team.
“This is a great opportunity for all the girls of the College. Netball in the local area has a great attraction and it is brilliant to see Calderdale College have their first netball team. I feel really positive about the year ahead” said Kathryn.
Currently the team are playing friendly games against local school, sixth form and college teams such as Brooksbank, Holy Trinity and Rishworth, however in the next academic year the team will be entered into the British Colleges Sport League and cup fixtures.
If you are interested in joining the team, please do not hesitate to contact Lee Greenwood or Kathryn Cromie on 01422 357357 ext. 9568 for all practice and game details.
Many thanks to Providence Maintenance, Official Sponsor of the Netball Academy and also Brooksbank School Sports Partnership for their support.
