Beauty Therapist gains job at prestigious spa

28th October 2009 Beauty Therapist gains job at prestigious spa

We are used to hearing negative stories about rising unemployment in the media but this hasn’t stopped Hannah Laprell from gaining a new job in one of the UK’s exclusive health and beauty spas. The former student achieved Beauty Therapy Levels 2 and 3 before sending her CV to local salons and spas. Consequently Eastthorpe Hall contacted her firstly for an interview, followed by a trade test, where she had to massage the Head Therapist. Hannah’s professional approach, technical skills and bubbly personality made it an easy decision for the prestigious spa to make.

Hannah is due to start work next week after taking part in an intense days’ training where she learnt new techniques such as body wraps and lava shell treatments. She believes her success is not only due to the courses she has undertaken but also the extra training she received from her tutors, Leanne Brannan, Charlotte Jones and Angela Owen when she was chosen to represent the college for the World Skills Competition.

Hannah is full of commendations for her former tutors and the college stating that: “The course and the college were really good. The tutors were brilliant as they believed in you which gave you the confidence to do treatments to the best of your ability.” She does confess that whilst studying Beauty Therapy Level 2 she used to dislike facial treatments but her tutors’ attitude and support changed her way of thinking.

It seems that everyone who has ever met Hannah is immensely proud of her achievements, believing that she fully deserves it. One of her former tutors, Leanne Brannan is one of the front runners in singing the young lady’s praises: “Hannah is such a wonderful, enthusiastic, committed person who is very focused at being the best she can be. She is an inspiration to other learners.” Leanne Brannan, tutor.
