Bolton Brow choir perform in College's recording studio

18th April 2011 Bolton Brow choir perform in College's recording studio

Music students and staff were treated to the angelic sounds of Bolton Brow School Choir during a recent visit to the College by the children.

The choir performed one of their favourite songs, “Holding Me”, in the College’s recording studio. The song is one of a number written by Year 3 teacher Cath Binns and features a solo from pupil Elodie McGhee, which is supported by approximately 35 children from Years 3-6.

Bolton Brow Choir is a very important part of our school life. As well as performing in school shows and concerts we love to build on our existing relationships with our local community by performing at events, nursing homes, local restaurants and with local high schools. When we were offered an opportunity to record at Calderdale College we were extremely excited!” said Ms Binns.

“We love singing together and realise we have something special to give to others. As one of our youngest choir members is quoted as saying, "I think that when choir sings we heal people's hearts". We're very proud and happy to have opportunities to do so!”
