Calderdale College held variety of events for Red Nose Day

29th March 2009 Calderdale College held variety of events for Red Nose Day

You can’t say that Calderdale College held back in the Red Nose festivities when it held a variety of fundraising events for the charity. The Student One Centre became the ‘Red zone’ for the day as bright red fabric covered the walls, pillars and other surfaces. Students and staff alike dressed up with the main theme of bedtime while the Hair and Beauty department donned the fancy dress attire of an alternative occupation. Keeping with tradition there was the usual cake and bun stall, a raffle, collection buckets circulating the building and games such as the Wii challenge in the Red zone.

The bike-a-thon contest was a close run thing with the staff pipping the learners to the finishing line with 106km to 104km race. Yet it was the much anticipated quiz that not only led to a sudden death tie break question but the confirmation of CCTV replay to declare the winners of the contest.

North Halifax Skills Centre also took part in the day’s festivities with the hair and beauty and the construction learners swapping jobs for the day. All in all the College raised approximately £500 for the charity, well done and thank you to everyone who took part.
