Students to show off World Couture on the Catwalk24th February 2014
Don't miss our World Couture fashion show, sponsored by New Look on 20th March at 6pm-9pm at Dean Clough Viaduct Theatre in Halifax.
Calderdale College Art & Design students (Level 1, 2, 3 and HND) have designed, created and will model their innovative designs on the catwalk at Viaduct Theatre.
Robin Smith, Course Leader Foundation Diploma in Art & Design said: “This year's theme is World Couture; our students have focused on different cultures from around the world to inspire their creations."
Last year’s collection focused on putting life back into unwanted items, this year our students have designed, dyed and printed on the fabric and created original garments inspired by different art and cultures from Japan, China and Africa”, continued Robin.
There will be prizes available for the best designs and garments made which have been sponsored by New Look in Halifax.
Students will also be setting up a photo booth for guests to have their photo taken before they watch the show. All proceeds from the photo booth will go towards Next Steps Trust, an energetic, professional and established day care facility designed to meet and enhance the needs of young adults with severe and complex needs.
The students will also be selling digital printed t-shirts and tie-dye scarfs and t-shirts on the night.
Local retailers, designers and the general public are all welcome to attend. For more information or to book tickets please email Caitlin Hargreaves – firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01422 399 958.
