Calling all budding Speilbergs, Scorceses or Abrams28th September 2011
Ever thought about creating your own short film, music video or documentary? Then why not enter Calderdale College’s competition to produce a film about college life and what being a student at Calderdale College is really like.
The competition is part of Colleges Week 2011 and open to ALL current Calderdale College students. There are two different categories to which films can be entered in:
• Generic college film – it could focus on one particular learner or a group
• Subject area film – this could be to promote a subject area or it could be something like a music style video, cross bar challenge, ready, steady cook or flash mob! The more creative the better!
You can create your masterpiece as an individual director or by working in a team. You could make a film with other members of your course or with friends across the College. In fact groups that join together to produce a film/s are encouraged.
Films will be shown at a film premiere evening at which prizes will be awarded:
• £250 prize for each category winner
• Runner up prizes of flip cameras.
The competition is being run as part of Colleges Week 2011 which has one clear aim – to help YOUR College connect with the communities it serves and reach out to unfamiliar or new audiences, promoting the benefits of College education and training.
Now the technical bit! The films must be no more than 2 minutes in length. We are not looking for slick production although clearly dialogue in films must be clear. We will accept entries filmed on flip cameras, mobile phones, the College MiPod or by using the cameras available from the LRC. Entries should be submitted by emailing a link to email@example.com
The closing date for entries is October 5th and we’d like filming to take place in the week 26th September to 3rd October.
Just remember to make your entry original, fun and entertaining to have the best chance of winning and GOOD LUCK!
