"In Geography we've been learning about houses around the world and in History we've looked at how homes were built in the past. "The children have learned about what different kinds of materials are used and why, and I thought it would be a great idea to take that a step further by visiting Calderdale College and letting them have a hands on session. It's been great fun and the most oversubscribed trip for adult helpers! Everyone's been really excited about it." Chris Eckersley, Schools Liaison Officer for Calderdale College, said "We try to support our community in any way that we can and, although we usually work with secondary schools, we've a lot to offer primary schools as well with specialist staff and excellent resources to assist with projects covered through the school curriculum. Bearing in mind the diverse range of courses we offer at Calderdale College there are many areas of the school curriculum that we can support, and we're happy to get involved with local organisations such as youth clubs and community groups too. If anyone has any enquiries they can come direct to me on 01422 399332."
