Celebrating Student Success - Graduation 201110th August 2011
Invitations are being sent out this week to those Calderdale College students who have successfully completed their H.E. or Professional course for graduation 2011.
The Graduation Ceremony is one of the most important days in the College’s calendar. It is an opportunity for the College and its students to celebrate their achievements, academically, professionally and personally, during their time studying with us.
The day will start at 11am with a procession of Graduands, College staff, Governors and special guests, through Halifax, headed by the The Band of the Boys' Brigade and the Girls' Brigade Halifax and Calderdale. The procession leaves the Town Hall and parades along Corn Market, Southgate, Alexandra Street ending at the Victoria Theatre for the Ceremony itself. Why not come along and watch the parade and celebrate the students’ successes?
At the Victoria Theatre Graduates will be entertained by the Castle Street Quartet before they are presented with their certificates by Lynne MacKenzie, Chair of Governors. There is also a presentation of Inspire Awards to three local people who through their actions and work are an inspiration to others . Further details of the Inspire winners, nominated by Calderdale College staff, will be announced shortly.
The Ceremony is followed by an informal reception, at the Victoria Theatre, where graduates can relax and celebrate their success with family, friends and College staff.
It's going to be a wonderful occasion, and one which we're sure you won't want to miss, so come along, watch the parade and join the celebrations.
If you are thinking about returning to education or developing your existing knowledge why not look at the range of Full Time and Part Time H.E. and Professional courses at Calderdale College. It could be you celebrating in 2012 with a graduation ceremony of your own!
