Construction Students to put their Joinery & Formula 1 Skills to the Test

5th May 2014 <b>Construction</b> Students to put their Joinery & Formula 1 Skills to the Test

14-16 year old Construction students based at the main campus at Calderdale College and Ryburn Construction Centre will be putting their joinery and driving skills to the ultimate test in a series of qualifying races leading to a grand final showdown on Saturday 10th May.

Students from Sowerby Bridge High School, Calder High School and Ryburn Valley High School will be taking part in the annual Go-Kart race in the Technology Centre Car Park between 10am – 12pm and will conclude with prize giving ceremony.

Stephen Guilfoyle, Construction Academy Co-ordinator & Joinery Lecturer at the College said: “The annual Go Kart race enables 14-16 year old Construction students to put their Go-Karts to the ultimate test over a series of races, before culminating in a grand finale. There is sure to be thrills and spills, so come along and support the teams.”
