Fun at the Jubilee day

29th May 2012

Visitors to the College's Jubilee Community event held on Saturday were entertained with lots of activities including go karting races, hair & beauty treatments, fencing demonstrations, American football, solar powered scalextric and much more.

The event was opened by Cllr Hardy, the new mayor of Calderdale, who also joined in the fun including helping out at the Go-karts and trying out his sword skills with a fencing duel!

There was something for everyone at the event with sports activities as diverse as American football, table tennis, fencing and dance. After all the energetic activities there was also time for a bit of relaxation and pampering with hair wraps, glitter tattoos and face painting or Arts and Crafts and make your own bunting.

The solar powered scalextric proved to be popular with both adults and children alike with a hard fought contest to get the quickest lap time. The under 14s was eventually won by six year old Azaan in a quick time of 7.8 seconds. The winner of the over 14s had to battle through a race off after a tied lap time of 7.7 seconds and was eventually was won by Bobby in a super quick time of 7.6 seconds.

Visitors were entertained with music and dance extravagances and also the chance to have a go!
