Liam wins North Halifax Neighbourhood Award

29th March 2011 Liam wins North Halifax Neighbourhood Award

North Halifax Skills Centre tutor Liam Madden has won a North Halifax Neighbourhood Award in the category of Contribution to Work & Training.

Liam received the award not only in recognition of his teaching and support of students at the Centre’s Construction Skills Academy, but also for the volunteering and fundraising work he has done with the students, which has included building a wall for local not-for-profit organisation Pennine Magpie and accompanying the learners on a 43 mile walk to York for Children in Need.

Speaking about his role at the North Halifax Skills Centre, Liam said “It’s a great Centre; I really enjoy working with the students and the staff. The award belongs to everyone there who has worked hard as a member of the team”.

The is the second North Halifax Neighbourhood Award for the Centre, following a win by Construction Skills Academy Co-ordinator Andy Jowett in 2009.
