Students at Calderdale College have marked Global Entrepreneurship Week (15 – 21 November) with a Dragon’s Den style challenge. Students from a range of departments, from business to art & design, completed various tasks throughout the day before attempting to win over the Dragons with their business ideas.

Prizes for the top three teams were awarded and the winning proposal will be put forward for the national competition. The Dragons will include Halifax Town Centre Manager Beth Ward, College governor and Chartered Insurance Broker Steven Lynas and Head of Finance at Calderdale College, Andrew Harris. Local business mentors and advisors from Business Link supported the learners throughout the day.

Last year's event was a great success; the College received a High Impact Badge of Honour for the positive and lasting impact it's activities had on the people who took part. Just 240 out of 4,800 events received this special status.
