National Hairdressing Federation success for NHSC Student

23rd November 2011 National Hairdressing Federation success for NHSC Student

Congratulations to Calderdale College student Becki Blacker who has been awarded a Men’s trainee Yorkshire Championship special diploma at the recent National Hairdressing Federation (NHF) Yorkshire Championship meeting.

Becki’s success is even more remarkable as she only started her barbering course at North Halifax Skills Centre five weeks ago and has had just one week of clipper training.

The competition involved a number of different hairdressing categories for different styles of cutting, clipper work and blow drying. Becki, who is a student on the Level 2 Barbering course at NHSC, was entered into three categories and was successful in all three as she came

1ST in the fashion conscious male trainee event
2ND in the Men’s clipper cut trainee event
3RD in the senior fashion conscious event

Due to her success in the three categories she was also awarded the Men’s trainee Yorkshire championship special diploma as well as a cash prize.

Also successful in the competition was former Calderdale College Barbering student Steve Quinn who won the men’s clipper cut trainee event.
