New Graphic Design Talent showcases at the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre

29th January 2009

Graphic Design Degree students from Calderdale College are showcasing their skills at the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre in Hopwood Lane.

Graphic Design Degree students from Calderdale College are showcasing their skills at the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre in Hopwood Lane.

The free exhibition, which runs until Friday 13 February, features the talents of ten students in their BA Honours Top-Up year.

“Each student has followed a brief for the industry sector that they want to work in, so it’s quite a diverse display”, said Patrick Dolan, Graphic Design tutor at Calderdale College.

“It includes packaging, advertising, photography, flyer design, corporate identity and illustration. The course is very much geared towards the work place”, he added.

Ha Smith, Business Development Manager of the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, said “Having the exhibition here gives local businesses the chance to see new talent coming through and for the students to network. We’re holding a showcase evening for them on Tuesday 27th January and inviting design companies and people in the industry along. Nurturing talent and promoting business growth in Calderdale is what we’re all about”.
