No Garden, One Dragon win Battle of the Bands Final

13th September 2010 No Garden, One Dragon win Battle of the Bands Final

No Garden, One Dragon were crowned winners of the 2010 Battle of the Bands competition on Thursday night.

No Garden, One Dragon were crowned winners of the 2010 Battle of the Bands competition on Thursday night.

It was a busy night in the Old Cock in Halifax as the three shortlisted bands fought to win the title and a day’s recording at Calderdale College’s music studio, as well as a live gig through music promoters The Doghouse.

The closely fought final featured superb performances from competitors The Frontier Psychiatrists and The Mexanines. The musicians impressed with their technical skills and individual styles, making the task of deciding on the winners very difficult for the judging panel.

After much deliberation the judges chose No Garden, One Dragon. Band members Sam Augustine, Luke Fielding, Alex Dutton-Taylor and Lewis Dutton-Taylor were delighted. “We didn’t expect to win, the other bands were great” said Alex. “We think our sound is a bit different, a bit peculiar, so we were really pleased that the audience were so engaged. Thank you to everyone!”
