One Festival

30th April 2010 One Festival

There were stalls where visitors could receive advice and information on a range of issues from bullying, housing and health to volunteering, the election and learning to drive.

This year’s One Festival has been a huge success. The annual event is a celebration of equality and diversity and this year’s theme was citizenship. Students and staff were invited to visit the One Centre where they enjoyed a lively mix of information and entertainment.

There were stalls where visitors could receive advice and information on a range of issues from bullying, housing and health to volunteering, the election and learning to drive.

Excellent Bollywood, bhangra and street dance performances entertained all spectators, as well as music from Loaded Dice, The Flakies and Greg Grieson. There were opportunities to get behind the wheel with a Bill Plant driving taster session or to pick up hair and beauty tips from live hair and make up demonstrations.

The festival was a big achievement for all staff, students and businesses involved; they created a buzz throughout the college, which will definitely be replicated next year.
