Shoe workshop for National Diploma and HND Art and Design students

29th March 2009

Emma Reed a freelance shoe designer is holding a shoe workshop for the National Diploma and HND art and design students as part of the Young Enterprise initiative. The students are in very capable hands as their demonstrator has spent over a decade in the industry after completing an art foundation degree and a fashion textiles placement in the United States. Having produced designs for high street retailers such as Marks and Spencer and Dorothy Perkins, Emma is keen to pass on advice to the students that will help them in their future careers. Her most important piece of advice is: “Know your market and remember you are designing for the customer, not yourself.”
