Sponsored Head Shave in Aid of Cancer Research13th February 2013
Earlier this month, Nathan Roberts, Level 2 Sport student at Calderdale College, lost his locks of hair to help raise money for Cancer Research: “I wanted to raise money to get more help for Cancer Research and I hope it will inspire other people to help.”
Nathan from Halifax, let Hairdressing students in the Full Works Hair and Beauty Salon shave his head in aid of Cancer Research, a charity close to Nathan’s heart: “I chose Cancer Research because my mum had breast cancer.”
So far Nathan has raised £150 with the help of his family and friends who went along to support him.
Luke Sutcliffe, Level 2 Sport student said: “I respect him for what he is doing.
Amanda Jenkins, Nathans mother, who has been in remission since 2008 said: “I am very proud of Nathan; I didn’t think he would go through with shaving his hair.”
Pam Milnes, Hairdressing Level 3 Programme Leader said: “Nathan’s sponsored head shave offered our learners the chance to build their confidence using hair clippers, because in ladies hairdressing they don’t often get the opportunity."
