Staff and Students volunteer to work on new clubhouse

29th March 2012

Calderdale College staff and students will be giving their time and expertise to help out at Copley Cricket’s new clubhouse build this weekend.

Staff and students from horticulture will be using the skills they have developed from their Land Based Studies course to hand cultivate the grounds. Staff from construction, painting and decorating will also be helping out at the event working on tiling, decorating, the fitting of floor coverings and basic joinery.

The club is holding the Natwest Cricket Force weekend on Saturday 31st March and Sunday 1st April to further develop its new club house.

This community volunteering event will also have Mike Gatting, the former Ashes winning England captain and some current Yorkshire CCC players helping out. The project is all about creating enduring, well-equipped facilities for both the Club and the whole community.
