Students Perform Model Makeover27th February 2012
Calderdale College students put their talents to use behind the scenes of a RAG week fashion show at the University of Leeds, Students Union.
The Fashion and Photography and Media Makeup students prepared the make over for all 62 models who walked down the catwalk at the Refectory, Leeds University Union on 23rd February.
The event aimed to raise money aid for Trekstock and People In Action, and the students donated their time to help the fundraising effort by creating specific looks for the models to match their outfit.
The event gave the students a good insight into working with both a top fashion retailer, Harvey Nichols, as well as local designers to display their clothes to the best effect. It was good practical experience of working in the events industry having to create multiple looks to a tight deadline.
Tutor Pamela Claire said: “The students have all been absolutely fantastic. It’s been brilliant working with them and they have created some amazing looks.”
Calderdale College has a number of courses covering professional make up and hairdressing techniques that are used in fashion, T.V, film, theatre and photographic industries.
