Students raise money for local charity

20th June 2011 Students raise money for local charity

A group of five learners have raised £100 for The West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.

Public Services students Jon Dalby, Alisha Porter, Alex Hines and Danny Keane and IT student Christian Corkish completed a sponsored rowing challenge by keeping two rowing machines continuously whirring for six hours. The team organised their event in order to raise money for both the Forget Me Not Trust and for their Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Award expedition to the Lake District.

Forget Me Not Trust volunteer Tina Thorpe visited the College to meet the students and to receive the cheque on behalf of the Trust. The Forget Me Not Trust supports children and young people with life limiting and life threatening conditions, by providing support and respite care. The money will go towards much needed equipment.
