Public Services & Sport Course Leader Tim Holden is celebrating after recently completing a gruelling coast to coast cycling challenge. Tim tackled the 120 mile solo journey to raise funds for the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

Tim began his journey in Morecombe at 10.00am, enjoying a pleasant ride for the first 60 miles before the weather began to deteriorate. Disaster then struck as crashed at a wet level crossing and was forced to set out on the second half of his journey across the foggy North York Moors bruised, battered and bloodstained.

Despite being rather soggy, Tim’s spirits were not dampened and he arrived safely in Whitby at 8.00pm; gratefully devouring a hearty portion of fish and chips before being driven home to a warm, comfy bed.

Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield is one of only three hospitals in the country dedicated exclusively to cancer treatment. The Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity supports the hospital by raising vital funds to support research and improve treatments and care for people living with cancer. Tim is currently collecting sponsorship money and has so far raised over £400.
