World Day of Social Justice23rd February 2012
To raise awareness of social justice issues in the community the Student Equality & Diversity group have organised an information fair in aid of The World Day of Social Justice.
The group invited a number of organisations to come into College to give out information and chat to students around this theme. The organisations included The Local Community Police, Safety NET (Disabled people’s rights), Calderdale Council E&D, Parliamentary Outreach, Street Angels, Lifeline and The White Ribbon Campaign.
The aim of the event is to emphasise the need for Social justice as an underlying principle for peaceful and prosperous coexistence and to remove barriers that people face because of gender, age, race, ethnicity, religion, culture or disability.
Future events by the Student Equality & Diversity group will include:

• April 25th The One Festival
• May Community Local History Month
• June 12th World Child Labour Day
• October Black History Month
• December 3rd Disability Awareness Day
