Martha Fitton, a teaching student at Calderdale College, has been awarded the Keith Webb Award for outstanding achievement by the University of Huddersfield which accredits the course. As part of the list of events during Refreshers Week there was a competition to say the Phrase that Pays. An impartial member of staff randomly asked a selection of students and staff throughout the College who were wearing their hoodies a question and the successful people were given a £20 gift voucher. In case you haven’t noticed the College has successfully distributed hundreds of free hoodies to students as a reward for all their hard work and dedication. The hoodies have been allocated to full time learners who have been nominated by their tutors for maintaining a high level of attendance and good behaviour. Performing Arts students from Calderdale College will be blazing a trail at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in February. Kirsty Green, 20, currently studying for a BA Hons Degree and Craig McArdle, who graduated last year, will be performing in a four-handed play, ‘Heroin(e) for Breakfast’, which won rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last summer.College students to wow Adelaide audiences – full story
Now that the weather has improved and the snow has all but disappeared Calderdale College would like to welcome back it’s refreshed staff and students with a week of activities and freebies.
