A flavour from last year:
What do I do if I cannot attend?
If you cannot attend do not worry, please ring Admissions on 01422 399316 for an alternative date. If you cannot attend until the first week in September, please come into college and ask for Learner Services as soon as you are available, bring your qualifications with you.
What if I cannot make the time/date I have been given?
That’s fine, just ring Admissions on 01422 399316 who will give you an alternative date and time to enrol, or attend within the main enrolment times as above.
What if I do not get the grades I am expecting?
Not a problem, come in during your allotted time slot and we will do the rest. We can offer you a place on a higher or lower level course suitable for your results. We have qualified Careers Guidance Advisers who can help you navigate your next steps if you are unsure.
What do I need to bring with me?
You just need to bring your GCSE results with you. If you are enrolling onto a Health & Social Care or Childcare course, you will need to bring evidence for your DBS certificate. Information on what to bring can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/documents-the-applicant-must-provide.
How long will enrolment take?
Enrolment times may vary subject to individual circumstances and the enrolment session can be very busy at certain times. You will receive a ticket and be able to monitor where you are in the queue. If you have any queries relating to this on the day you enrol, speak to a member of staff for advice.
What if I change my mind and want to do another course?
Not to worry, you can still attend the main enrolment period and speak to a Careers Adviser who will direct you to the course/department you want to study with.
Can I enrol if I haven’t applied for a course?
Absolutely, we have staff on hand to enrol you if you haven’t applied. As well as advice stations if you haven’t made your decision yet.
Can I apply for financial support?
Yes. When you enrol, you can speak to a Student Advisor about what financial support is available for you, both for initial course funding and eligibility for support whilst on the course.
If I do not qualify for a bursary, am I eligible for any more support for travel?
Yes, if you are aged 16-18 and a new student with Calderdale College and you achieve 100% attendance each term you will be eligible for the free travel scheme and you will be reimbursed every term.
When will I receive my timetable?
You will receive your timetable when you enrol. If you enrolled before main enrolment (August 22nd) you will receive your timetable through the post towards the end of August.
My question hasn't been answered in the above.
Please call us on 01422 399316.
