This course aims to extend the knowledge and skills gained from the Level 1 Book-keeping qualification into more complex book-keeping transactions and concepts.

Course Info

The Level 2 Book-keeping qualification will enable you to acquire the skills and experience to run the accounting function for a small business and to progress your accounting career.

Within the context of a sole trader you will learn to carry out:

  • Control accounts
  • Journal and suspense accounts
  • Trial balance
  • Final accounts and adjustments

The course leads to a qualification from City and Guilds – the highly respected examinations body which is recognised and valued by employers across the world.

This course typically achieves a high success rate – exam results are consistently excellent. Students are therefore able to develop their skills for career progression, success in the workplace and enhanced employment opportunities.

Teaching

The programme is delivered in the classroom, using worksheets, presentations, class exercises and mock exams.

There is an expectation of minimum of 2 hours private study per week. Homework will be set and assessed on a weekly basis.

 

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

This course is suitable for candidates with a Manual Book-keeping Level 1 qualification. However consideration will be given to candidates with relevant, practical book-keeping experience.

In this instance, candidates will be interviewed to ascertain their level of knowledge and experience.
