If you haven’t decided which area of computing you would like to pursue a career in, or just want to enhance your existing skills, this brand-new course will give you the opportunity to explore some very popular areas of computing. There will be the chance to work with local employers and to work on real-life projects!

These qualifications are for individuals who want to develop and extend their digital and IT skills to prepare for different roles in the digital and creative industries within Systems Infrastructure.

Mandatory Unit:

Project Management – Learners will understand project management concepts and the processes and tools used by organisations to manage IT projects.

Specialist units:

  • Networking – get to know the key components of networks, and learn about the protocols and services provided by networks. Explore the technologies and devices used in networking and design, and be able to design and maintain a secure network.
  • System Security and Encryption -Investigate the principles of systems analysis and learn how to use methods to examine an organisation and its current systems.
  • Cloud Technologies – This unit explores cloud technologies and services and the models used to deliver them. Learn about the fundamentals of cloud services and the security protocols used to protect data in organisations.

System Management and Support – Study how systems are managed and supported, and the tools and activities that can be used to assist organisations and users.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

There is no requirement for learners to have undertaken a specific qualification, but learners should be able to demonstrate the skills and ability to study at Level 3. English and Maths at Level 2 will provide a good foundation for successful progression.
