Course Info

This qualification is ideal for people who are either working or want to work in the Catering Industry.

It covers skill areas such as food preparation, food and the drinks service.

There are a wide variety of jobs available within this industry and we can offer Apprenticeships that cover both food production and the food and drink service.

If you want to be a chef you will work in a kitchen alongside professional chefs learning and developing your skills in cookery.

If customer service is the area that you want to work in then you could be working in a restaurant or bar and be involved in the service and presentation of food and drink.

You will develop your skills and gain work based experience.

You will also complete a Technical Certificate that will introduce you to the Principles of Hospitality and Catering and Functional Skills.

Teaching

Candidates will be assessed in the workplace and supported by an industry competent Training Officer.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

All applicants will be interviewed and assessed for suitability by a Training Officer.

Applicants will be expected to be in relevant employment with the support of an employer who can offer work that supports NVQ completion; however those without an employer will be given job seeking assistance by the Training Officer.
