Course Info

This is a practical based qualification designed to help learners gain the skills they will need to progress into the sports sector.

The course will be based around two key BTEC units:

  • Taking Part in Exercise and Fitness
  • Taking Part in Sport

The knowledge gained in the classroom is applied in the sports lab, gym, sports hall and on the outdoor facilities.

Alongside this you will study the Personal and Social Development (PSD) course with focus around Healthy Eating, Interview Skills, Cyber Bullying and Interpersonal Communications’ to name a few.

Teaching

The course is a variety of lectures, practical projects and sport/gym sessions.

The course is practical with a theoretical basis so that learners understand and practice what they have learned.

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

An introductory course suitable for beginners. The Entry Level 3 course requires applicants to have a keen interest in sport and leisure and the willingness to participate develop personal and social skill.

Applicants will be considered following a satisfactory interview with a tutor and may be required to provide a reference.
