Calderdale College is committed to widening participation in Higher Education. It offers ‘non-traditional’ undergraduates the opportunity to study for a BA Honours qualification through flexible and part-time routes.

A large number of students come from backgrounds that do not traditionally enrol in higher education. These students are supported by the College to be successful through its inclusive teaching, academic skills support and a package of support from Learner Services and the Learning Centre staff.

To further this work in widening access and participation to higher education, the College is currently writing an Access Agreement that will include a package of further support and enhancement that will be agreed with the Office for Fair Access (OFFA).

The agreement will allow the College to increase its tuition fees for higher education, while using the increased income to deliver targeted initiatives to support students to be successful. This agreement will come into force in September 2018.
