The Level 4 Certificate in Leadership and Management is an ideal qualification for new and aspiring middle managers as well as for those managers who are seeking recognition of the skills and knowledge that they have learned through work experience and management practice. Designed to consolidate your current knowledge and skills, enable you to identify and develop your own leadership and management style, and to develop your capabilities and reputation as a successful innovative business leader within your organisation, this nationally recognised qualification will develop and strengthen your position in the world of management today.
If you are in a leadership and management role as a senior supervisor, department head, regional manager or at a senior level in an organisation, project management or change role then this qualification is for you.
Each of the units studied focus on a specific skills set within which the following areas will be covered:
- Managing Communication
- Managing Meetings
- Understanding Leadership
- Managing Risk in the Workplace
- Managing Stress and Conflict in the Organisation
- Credit value: 15
When you have successfully achieved your qualification you will be able to join the Institute of Leadership and Management, the UK's leading management education body renowned for combining industry leading qualifications and as well as specialist member services as a qualified manager.
Fees include registration with the awarding body (ILM) and Calderdale College course tuition fees for the duration of their course.
The delivery of the qualification includes the use of guided study through on-line media, master classes, group and case study work with an expectation of weekly private study.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course. If you are in a job role which you feel is suitable to the level of this qualification to enable you to demonstrate your skills and experience, then this is the time to apply.

How is the course assessed?
Each unit has a work based project to complete. This will include the use of work based evidence and assignment report, and on occasion work based projects.
Are there any opportunities for progression?
Progression from this course is to the ILM Leadership and Management Level 5.
