Course Overview

The qualification is aimed at learners aged 16+ who would like to develop practical skills and understanding in motor vehicle systems and are thinking of acquired the key skills and understanding to apply for an automotive apprenticeship.

This course is for:

  • Motivated learners with a passion for motor vehicles learners who wish to pursue a career in a fast fit organisation
  • Learners who require more time and support with study and passing exams

Throughout this course, you will complete a series of mandatory modules, including:

  • Skills in Health, Safety and Good Housekeeping in the Automotive Environment
  • Skills in Materials, Fabrication, Tools and Measuring Devices in the Automotive Environment
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Good Housekeeping in the Automotive Environment
  • Knowledge of Materials, Fabrication, Tools and Measuring Devices Used in the Automotive Environment
  • Skills in Routine Light Vehicle Maintenance
  • Knowledge of Routine Light Vehicle Maintenance Optional:
  • Skills in Removing and Replacing Light Vehicle Chassis Units and Components
  • Knowledge of Removing and Replacing Light Vehicle Chassis Units and Components

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

  • You will have successfully completed a level 1 Motor Vehicle course.
  • You will have achieved a Functional Skills Level 2 or GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths or English.
  • You will have minimum 85% attendance to all aspects of your study program.
  • You will also need to complete a successful interview with the course tutor.

Progression

After successfully completing this course, students may progress onto an apprenticeship or employment.

Assessment Methods

Students on this course will be assessed via practicals and knowledge assessments.
