Calderdale College is proud to announce its plans for Colleges Week 2026, taking place from Monday 2 – Friday 6 March, as part of the national celebration led by the Association of Colleges.
This year’s theme, skills for all, shines a spotlight on the transformative role colleges play in supporting learners of all ages – from school leavers and apprentices to adults and higher education students. Throughout the week, the College will host a wide range of events and activities designed to showcase its impact on students, employers and the local economy.
A week of celebration and engagement
Each day of Colleges Week will focus on a different group of students:
- Monday – adults: The week will launch by promoting the benefits of adult learning as part of the national Adult Learning Pays campaign.
- Tuesday – young people: An Employer Careers Carousel event will connect students with leading construction businesses Galliford Try and BDB Design Build Share, and Brickwork and Joinery classes will begin building planters for the College’s new green space.
- Wednesday – apprentices: We’ll be putting a spotlight on the employers that we have supported and sharing live vacancies.
- Thursday – University Centre students: Look out for insights into the benefits of flexible learning, saving money and being part of a close-knit learning community on your doorstep.
- Friday – your college community: A flagship Women in STEM event at the College’s Engineering Centre will welcome local schools and students for inspiring talks, panels and hands-on activities. And, to say thank you to our talented staff team, catering students from Cuisine1893 will be cooking up a storm.
Throughout the week, special “Cuppa with a Copper” sessions will be hosted by our College Police Officer PC Steph, raising awareness of key local issues and bringing students closer to community services.
Colleges Week 2026 provides a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of the essential role further education plays in delivering skills, supporting employers and boosting social mobility across Calderdale.
By engaging students, staff, employers, schools, local leaders and the wider community, Calderdale College is proud to champion its position as Calderdale’s College – equipping people of all ages with the skills they need to succeed.
