Course Overview

The NCFE Level 2 Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services is designed for learners interested in careers within the armed forces, police, fire and rescue, or wider public services. The course provides a strong foundation in the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for service life, including teamwork, discipline, communication and problem-solving.

Learners explore topics such as employment opportunities, physical fitness, health and safety, and equality and diversity, alongside practical activities that develop resilience and confidence. Emphasis is placed on preparing learners for the expectations of uniformed service environments.

During this course, you will complete modules including:

  • Investigate employments in the Uniformed Services
  • Physical fitness for the Uniformed Services
  • Develop team working and problem-solving skills
  • Health and hygiene in the Uniformed Services
  • Follow Uniformed Service routine
  • Undertake adventurous activities
  • Participate in competitive sports

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

Applicants are required to have a Grade 2 or higher in Maths, a Grade 3 or higher in English and a Grade 3 or higher in 3 other subjects. You will be invited to attend an interview.

NCFE Level 3 Uniformed Services qualifications NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Policing Apprenticeships within public/uniformed services Entry routes into Armed Forces, Police, Fire or Prison Services Security, public sector or emergency service support roles

Assessment Methods

You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence (no final exams), written assignments and reports, practical activities and fitness assessments, presentations and group work, observations and scenario-based tasks.
