English is arguably the most important GCSE subject, being a necessary requirement for most Further and Higher Education courses, as well as a wide range of jobs.
The course may be taken alongside other courses or as preparation for a vocational course.
The GCSE English qualification is made up of three units that include Speaking and Listening, Controlled Assessments and an exam at the end of the course. Sessions are taught both daytime and evening and include a range of teaching methods. You will have one 3-hour class per week.
You will learn to work with both fiction and non-fiction texts. You will learn to write real-world texts, such as speeches, letters and emails, and creative writing pieces.
