Entry Requirements & Interview Process

An initial assessment will determine entry onto the right level course.

Additional assessment for learning will take place during the two week course induction to ensure that learners are on the correct level to suit their skills, ability and previous learning.

Progression

If you successfully complete your qualification, you can enroll for higher level Functional Skills qualifications or GCSE English. You can also apply for vocational courses that require English skills. This will be discussed the Adult Progression Officer.

Assessment Methods

Progress is monitored closely and assessed regularly through coursework and review of the Individual Learning Plan.

Learners will also complete practice assessments and the course is formally assessed by externally marked assessments for reading and writing at Levels 1 and 2 (online/paper-based) and by formal assessment at all 3 entry levels, L1 & L2 speaking and listening – which are all marked internally.
