Course Overview

Would you know what to do if a dog or cat started choking, collapsed, or suffered heatstroke? This short, hands-on course will give you the confidence to respond quickly, safely, and effectively in an emergency.

Delivered at Calderdale College by experienced trainers with practical, real-world knowledge, this course combines expert teaching with practical, hands-on activities in a supportive environment.

What you’ll learn:

  • CPR, choking & recovery position
  • Wound care, bleeding & safe bandaging
  • Poisoning, seizures & fractures
  • Heatstroke & water inhalation emergencies
  • Essential first aid kit items

Who is it for?
Pet owners, dog walkers, animal care students, workplaces, schools, and community groups – anyone who may encounter animals in emergency situations.
