Course Overview

This Entry level qualification is designed to provide you with a range of practical skills, knowledge and understanding. You’ll finish the course having mastered the basics of working with animals, which will then open a number of exciting doors for you. You’ll study a wide range of units which are designed to give you the perfect foundation for a career working with animals. Meaning upon completion you’ll be to gain employment in the animal care industry or progress to further specialist study, for example; our Level 1 diploma course.

  • Going on a Visit
  • Presenting to Others
  • Designing a Product

Entry Requirements & Interview Process

No official qualification needed, but applicants must be working towards gaining their GCSE/Functional Skills Maths and English.

Applicants without the stated entry requirements may still have their application considered. These will be evaluated on individual merit and interviewing staff may introduce an assessment into the interview process to assess applicants’ current level of ability in relation to the course applied for. Progression

After completion of this course, you may progress onto the Level 1 Diploma Vocational Studies in Animal Care or other Level 1 vocational courses.

  • Wildlife Centre

Assessment Methods

Throughout the course, you will be assessed through written assessments, work booklets, verbal assessments and presentations.
