This is the C&G 2346-03 and is known as the Experienced Worker Assessment. It is for people already working in the trade who have a minimum of 5 years’ auditable work experience. Upon completion it will enable the student to gain a JIB Gold Card.
This qualification mirrors the C&G 5357 apprenticeship NVQ in terms of on-site performance objectives.
Once an application has been received the student has to undergo a rigorous and formal ‘Skills Scan’ to determine their suitability for the course. This is used to identify their skills, experience and technical knowledge. This is followed up by a formal recorded professional discussion with a course tutor to determine suitability It will be subject to internal and external quality assurance in order to follow the awarding body requirements
If the application is successful, the student must complete six performance units from the C&G 5357 NVQ on several occasions, some of which will be direct on-site observations. It is also a requirement to have an 18th edition qualification and an inspection and testing qualification such as the C&G 2391-50 to evidence CPD. When these are completed, the student then progresses through the NET ‘gateway’ to do an AM2E to finish their qualification. None of these additional qualifications are included in the course fees.
It is expected that this qualification could be completed over a single academic year.
The 2346-03 is a full cost recovery course only and attracts no funding.
